Seminar: Housing needs of vulnerable populations – Oct 21 Wellington
University of Auckland – one day seminar
Tuesday 21st October 2014, 10.00am – 2.30pm
Venue: Wellington Railway Station West Wing Room 129
Victoria University of Wellington
The community housing of people with vulnerabilities is a significant global challenge. Research into social housing in New Zealand, however, remains sparse, and there has been little discussion about the housing needs of vulnerable and marginalised groups and how these needs might be addressed. Vulnerable groups include those with mental health or substance use problems, rough sleepers, refugee populations, ex-prisoners, people with physical disabilities and victims of family violence.
The workshop is one of a series held around New Zealand with the long-term aim of creating sustainable networks to address vulnerability and housing in New Zealand. Please find the draft programme on the following page.
The event is free to attend and lunch will be provided, but places are limited. RSVP to Angela Maynard @ [email protected] by 16th Oct 2014. Please inform us of any dietary requirements.
