Habitat for Humanity Southern

Habitat for Humanity Southern Region is the southernmost Affiliate of the global housing charity Habitat for Humanity whose vision is of “a world where everybody has a decent place to live”.

The Affiliate is the result of an amalgamation of three Habitat for Humanity Affiliates: Christchurch, Dunedin, and Invercargill.

Habitat for Humanity Southern Region operates a number of housing programmes across Canterbury, Otago and Southland including:

• Progressive Home Ownership: Habitat’s flagship rent-to-buy home ownership program.
• Home Repair Program: A BNZ-supported no-interest loan affordable repair program which assists homeowners with repairs and improvements they could not otherwise afford.
• Other region-specific programmes including tenancy management of two boarding houses (Invercargill), a Healthy Homes Minor Repairs Program in partnership with the Dunedin Curtain Bank.
