National Māori Housing Conference 2016- registrations open
“As whānau, hapū and iwi here in Tauranga Moana we’re excited to be able to host this bi-annual Maori housing conference. This year’s Māori Housing Conference theme is ‘Ma whero ma pango ka oti ai te mahi’ – Collaboration and Strategic Relationships. The three day event will provide a platform to showcase leadership and local, regional and international housing solutions” said Mr Ihaka.
The programme will feature regional, national and international case studies from Aotearoa (New Zealand), Hawaii, Canada and Australia. There will also be an opportunity to visit some papakainga developments in Tauranga Moana.
The conference will also produce a high level national document to identify strategic solutions for the current and future housing needs of Māori in Aotearoa .
“Te Puni Kokiri is one of the major sponsors for the conference and we are also looking for other organisations who would like to sponsor the event. We are very grateful to Te Puni Kokiri for their assistance and to our voluntary organising committee for organising the event” said Mr Ihaka.
