World Homeless Day – 10 October 2025

World Homeless Day is on Friday 10 October.

This year it is about compassion, community, and action. Activations have been organised across Aotearoa. We include a handful of activations that we are aware of. You are warmly invited to join and take part in these. Feel free to share them with your networks.

Every New Zealander deserves a safe place to call home. This World Homeless Day, Lifewise invites you to come together at Federal Square, Auckland CBD, to stand with street
whānau, honour their resilience, and amplify the urgent call for collective action. You’re invited to join Lifewise and others to share in a powerful day of community, creativity, and
hope. Together we make a difference. During the day there will be:

• Free health checks and vaccinations (Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei, Hato Hone St John,
National Health Coalition)
• Legal support from Auckland Community Law
• Mobile showers and laundry (Orange Sky)
• Hot meals, breakfast packs, and gourmet burgers
• Clothing, haircuts, and more essential services
• On-site voting for General and Local Body Elections
• Art exhibitions, live performances, and creative workshops
• Keynote remarks from Helen Robinson (Auckland City Missioner) and Pam Elgar
