​Disabled tenants locked out of social housing

Today, Radio New Zealand interviewed Auckland-based Disability Connect who wants the Government to earmark a portion of social housing, to meet its own policy of supporting disabled people to leave home and live in the community. An IHC survey has also found high levels of concern over housing among the parents of intellectually disabled adults. Kathryn Ryan speaks with the chair of Disability Connect, Colleen Brown; Director of Advocacy at IHC, Trish Grant; Auckland-based wheelchair user Rachel Peterson; and disability advocate and wheelchair user Erin Gough.
