Livingston and Associates Ltd. have been conducting research funded by the Building Research Levy on the opportunity of alternative housing tenures for New Zealand. Research Update 1 titled “What’s Happened in the Intermediate Housing Market” examines spatial and temporal patterns of New Zealand’s intermediate market. Livingston and Ltd. found a trend of decreasing affordability and homeownership rates in the intermediate market.
