Government pays to move people out of Auckland

While no figure has been confirmed, Paula Bennett says it’s likely to be similar to the 3k Christchurch policy – so people will be given $3000 and moving costs.

“We have places in New Zealand where there is employment, where there certainly are empty state houses and I think we should be opening up more of an opportunity for people to move out of Auckland,” she told TVNZ reporters.
