As at 30 June, 39 organisations have responded to the survey reporting on 9834 homes and with an occupancy rate of 94%. The homes surveyed are providing primarily long-term rental accommodation at 85%, with 6% in shared ownership programs, 6% rent-to-buy, and a small number of emergency and transitional homes.
We estimate that the community housing stock exceeds 13,000 and we would like to get closer to reporting on this mark for the September 30 quarter. It is an important step towards having a better understood and provided for community housing sector.
