MSD update on contracting for public housing

Jun 26, 2018 | News

Hi everyone,

As you may know, over the past few months, MSD has been developing a simpler way of contracting for public housing.

We’ve tried to make things easier, more consistent and transparent, reflecting a more collaborative and relationship-based way for MSD and providers to work in partnership together.

To do this, we have listened to feedback from our working group, Community Housing Aotearoa (CHA) and providers, and worked with legal experts.

We now have a draft set of contracts and an overarching Relationship Agreement.

Over the next few weeks we’ll be testing and refining these drafts in a series of workshops with sector and agency representatives.

CHA will be taking part in these workshops to make sure that our new contracting framework aligns with the needs of providers. CHA is working with MSD to help communicate this work to the wider group of community housing providers, and to channel feedback to MSD.

We very much appreciate this support.

Providers who are interested in taking part in the workshops can contact Chris Glaudel, Deputy Director CHA on [email protected].

Copies of the draft documents will be available for providers to download on the CHA website from 27 June.

By getting this right together, we will make a real difference to the way we can bring on more public housing for New Zealanders in need now and in the future.

I have also attached a factsheet about the new contracting framework to this email.

Thanks and have a great weekend.

Kind Regards,

Andrew Plant
