New Ministry of Housing and Urban Development welcomed by CHA

Jun 8, 2018 | News

The new Ministry will provide the coordinated policy advice required to deliver better housing outcomes. We think this will contribute to our sector’s vision of all New Zealanders well-housed.

CEO Scott Figenshow says “We expect this will enable government to maximise the unique value add that the not for profit community housing sector can offer through our ability to retain and recycle public investment.

“By joining social, emergency and affordable housing with the broader housing policy functions, we should see better connections that enable people to transition from emergency housing into potentially owning their home in the future.

“We look forward to working with the new Ministry building on our positive working relationships with MSD and MBIE, towards all New Zealanders well-housed.”
