Effective procurement that maximises productive, sustainable margins to the industry, while delivering fit-for purpose dwellings at an affordable price to the community sector is needed to increase supply. Partnering approaches involving collaborative design, project management and procurement are increasingly being adopted in preference to competitive models. Currently, there is no systematic research into CHOs’ approaches to procurement and project management or their relations with the building industry. Nor is there any evaluative assessment of the price and performance outcomes of different approaches used by CHOs. This research fills that gap.
